Team and Permissions
Add your team, control what each person can see, and keep a record of who did what.
How access works
Section titled “How access works”Three things determine what someone can do:
- Their role — the set of permissions they hold.
- Their creator scope — every creator in the account, or only the ones assigned to them.
- Their status — active, invited, or disabled.
Access is enforced everywhere. A chatter assigned to two creators sees those two creators on the dashboard and in the extension. There is no view, no export and no shortcut that reveals a third.
The five ready-made roles
Section titled “The five ready-made roles”| Role | Intended for | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | The person who owns the business | Everything, including deleting the account. Cannot be edited, demoted or removed. Every account has one |
| Admin | Your operations lead | Everything except deleting the account |
| Manager | Team leads and creator managers | All creators; create, edit and delete creators and fans; tune personas; import history; generate drafts; manage media; view analytics. No billing, no team management |
| Chatter | Frontline operators | Only their assigned creators. Read creator settings, work fans, generate drafts, view media. No deletions, no persona editing, no billing, no analytics |
| Accountant | Finance | Billing and analytics only. No conversations, no fans, no creator settings |
All five are editable, and you can create your own. Only Owner is fixed.

- Status — a deactivated person keeps their history but cannot sign in.
- Invite teammate — sends an invitation to their email address.
- Assigned creators — how many creators this chatter is allowed to work with. Only roles scoped to assigned creators show a number here.
Creator scope
Section titled “Creator scope”The most important setting on a role.
- All creators — this role sees everything in the account. Correct for Owner, Admin, Manager and Accountant.
- Assigned only — this role sees nothing until creators are explicitly assigned to them. Correct for Chatter, and it is the default.
Agency tip. Keep chatters on assigned scope even when they currently work every creator. It costs one click per assignment and it means adding a creator never accidentally exposes it to your whole roster.
Inviting someone
Section titled “Inviting someone”- Open Settings → Team and click Invite teammate.
- Enter their work email address.
- Choose a role.
- If the role is assigned-scope, select their creators.
- Send.
They receive an email invitation and set their own password. Until they do, they appear as Invited and cannot sign in.
Changing what someone can do
Section titled “Changing what someone can do”- Change their role to move them between permission sets.
- Change their creator assignments as your roster shifts.
- Edit the role itself to change permissions for everyone holding it.
Common adjustments:
| You want | Do this |
|---|---|
| Chatters to be able to tune personas | Add persona management to the Chatter role |
| A senior chatter to see performance | Add analytics viewing to their role |
| A manager to handle billing | Add billing permissions, or move them to Admin |
| A manager who must not delete anything | Remove the delete permissions from a copy of the Manager role |
Removing someone
Section titled “Removing someone”Disable the user rather than deleting them. Disabling:
- immediately prevents them signing in, everywhere, including the extension;
- keeps every record of what they did intact.
This matters. Deleting the person who generated four thousand drafts last quarter would take those attributions with them.
Team size
Section titled “Team size”Your team is not something we charge for. Invite as many people as the work needs — the size of your team does not depend on your subscription, and nothing about billing ever removes, deactivates or restricts someone’s access.
What you pay for is creators and drafts (see Billing). A bigger team naturally uses more of both, and that is where the cost sits.
There is a technical maximum per account to prevent abuse; if you are anywhere near it, write to support@sufflera.com and we will raise it.
Accountability
Section titled “Accountability”Draft attribution. Every draft records who generated it. Your Analytics dashboard reports drafts per team member per month, so shift productivity is visible without anyone building a spreadsheet.
Activity log. Available on any paid subscription, the activity log records the actions that matter: deletions, billing changes, subscription changes, automation escalations. Each entry carries who, what, which record, when, and from where.
Access to the activity log is a permission of its own and is not included in the Manager, Chatter or Accountant roles by default. Grant it deliberately.
Notification preferences
Section titled “Notification preferences”Each team member controls what email they receive, in Settings → Notifications. They can also add extra addresses — for example, sending billing notifications to your accountant as well as themselves.
Essential account emails — address verification, password reset, team invitations — are always delivered.
Recommended structure by agency size
Section titled “Recommended structure by agency size”Solo operator. Owner only.
Small team (2–5). One Owner, one or two Managers, the rest Chatters on assigned scope.
Established agency (5–25). Owner, one Admin running operations, Managers per creator group, Chatters assigned to their creators, one Accountant. Review assignments monthly.
Multi-brand. Consider a separate account per brand where data must not be shared at all. Accounts are completely isolated from one another.
